One thing I've noticed with some recent Megahertz and 3Com Pcmcia modem cards when using NT4 and connecting to a 3Com total control box. If you disable PPP LCP extentions it seems to help get and stay connected.

  • 3Com owned USRobotics , and Megahertz but is spinning them off into their own separate unit.. Other makes such as Cardinal and Gateway 2000 (Telepath) also make X2 modems.

The remaining 3Com was bought by HP and the 3Com products (such as the 3Com Dual Lan Connection Modem) have been rebranded as HP prodcuts.

I have noticed sometimes especialy on macs and problems with frequent discconections, if you add S12=0 it seems to help.
